Where can I get LiveShare?
LiveShare is available for free on the LiveShare website, iPhone, and Android. LiveShare messages can be sent to any device that has email, SMS, or a web browser, so your friends don't even need to have LiveShare to be able to receive, view, and respond.
Can I share with anyone, even those without LiveShare?
Yes. The beauty of LiveShare is that you can share with anyone you choose. LiveShare does not require recipients of your messages to have LiveShare in order to view and reply to content you post to them. Friends without LiveShare can email their reply, which you will receive within LiveShare.
Why do I need to confirm my email address to get the full experience?
When you sign up with email (not Facebook), you need to click the confirmation link sent to your email address. Doing so verifies you are the owner of that email address. Without such verification, you will not be able to receive invitations to new conversations from friends nor get notifications for activity in conversations you're a part of.
What can I post through LiveShare?
LiveShare conversations consist of photos, texts, map locations, likes, and more. You can post as often as you want into an existing conversation thread or start a new one with as few or many people you want. There's no limit to how much you post and it's free.
Who can view messages I post?
It's your choice. By default, LiveShare works a lot like email and will post content only to those you designate or those your recipients invite. Optionally, you can post to Facebook and Twitter, or create a "sharable" conversation from our Web app that can be searched and shared to anyone with the conversation link.
How do I start a conversation?
To start a new conversation, just click the compose button, enter the email or phone number of those you wish to message, add a text message or photo, and click the send button.
How do I add content or members to an existing conversation?
To add content to an existing conversation, just click the conversation of interest. To add new members, click the members icon within the selected conversation. Friends can also invite their friends to join your group conversation.
How do I share photos to Facebook?
On iPhone, long press any image within a conversation. Then select one or more images to share. Click the Facebook button to post to your Facebook wall. Only images you select will be displayed on your wall.
How do I add or change the title to a conversation?
You can add or change a title of any conversation you start. Just fill in the title field as you compose the first message of your new conversation. To change the title later, login to the LiveShare website, select the conversation, and click the title to edit it.
How do I remove a conversation?
LiveShare works a lot like email. Once a conversation is created and shared, it becomes a "living document" among all participants and cannot be deleted. However, you can remove the conversation from your view. On iPhone, left-swipe the conversation on the home screen and tap "archive". On the Web, click the "subscribe/unsubscribe" toggle in conversation view.
Is it free to message friends and family abroad?
Posting to an email account is always free. When posting to a phone number, standard SMS charges by your carrier apply until that phone number is registered as a LiveShare account.
When I travel abroad, will I be charged for data roaming?
LiveShare uses your Wi-Fi or mobile data connection, i.e. 3G, Edge, etc. Depending on your mobile data plan, your carrier may apply data roaming charges. To avoid roaming charges, turn off data roaming on your phone and use a Wi-Fi connection.
